Special transports
Solutions for complex challenges: When it comes to special transport, detailed planning and precise coordination are particularly important – from the choice of route to the safe packaging of goods that have excess lanes. When transporting a printing press, for example, the Militzer & Münch teams in Dresden, Berlin and Minsk work closely together. The machine was dismantled at the manufacturer’s factory in Radebeul, Saxony. With the parts loaded onto six tight liners, the special transport went to the city of Masis, 4,000 kilometers away, near the Armenian capital Yerevan.
The biggest challenge: the printing press had to be cleared at customs in one go, and the six trucks had to arrive at the customs terminal together. Thanks to clever scheduling and good cooperation across national borders, the drivers’ different travel times were no problem, and the six-truck special transport reached the Armenian customs terminal on time.
