St. Gallen / Warsaw, May 25, 2016. The Polish national subsidiary of Militzer & Münch is celebrating its 25th anniversary today. With headquarters in Warsaw and branches in Wroclaw, Krakow and Pruszków, M&M sea air cargo S.A. their customers services along the entire supply chain. Militzer & Münch is currently in 10th place among air freight forwarders in Poland.

25 years ago, Poland’s focus was on imports – today the country is a successful exporter: In addition to vehicle and machine parts, spare parts for aircraft and cosmetics, food is one of the most sought-after Polish goods. With a turnover of 53 billion euros on the Polish logistics market in 2014, the country is currently in 7th place in Europe. In 2015, Poland exported food worth 23.6 billion euros. This is an increase of eight percent compared to the previous year. Main goods transported are dairy products, beverages, chocolate, cookies and pet food. Rapid growth

At the beginning of the 1990s, the need for groupage shipments in Poland was high. In order to meet this demand, Militzer & Münch opened the Polish national company M&M Militzer & Münch Polska sp. in May 1991. z o. o. A separate air freight department followed in 1992. “We were the first company with an office at the cargo terminal of Warsaw Chopin Airport,” says Wojciech Łyżwiński, Managing Director of M&M sea air cargo S.A. “Thanks to our rapid growth, we were able to offer our customers comprehensive services as early as the end of 1992: conventional and container rail transport, general cargo and groupage, air freight and customs clearance.” On April 1, 1998, the air freight division was spun off and transferred to an independent company, M&M air cargo service Polska S.A..

Everything under one name

Since 2011, the entire Polish Militzer & Münch national company has been owned by M&M sea air cargo S.A. represented. “M&M air sea cargo S.A. is an important part of the Militzer & Münch Group,” says Dr. Lothar Thoma, CEO M&M Militzer & Münch International Holding AG. “Thanks to the excellent work of the team led by Managing Director Wojciech Lyzwinski, we have been able to steadily expand our services in Poland.” In the past two years, the company achieved a total increase in transports of 19 percent.

National and international

M&M sea air cargo S.A. handles most deliveries. between Poland and the USA, the Middle and Far East and Africa. Today the portfolio includes air and sea freight as well as project logistics and customs clearance. “Sea freight is in particularly high demand,” says Wojciech Łyżwiński. “Our main customers include companies from the automotive, mechanical engineering, aviation, cosmetics, fashion, electronics and food sectors. We see potential for expansion in the food industry in particular in the coming years.”
