As you have probably already learned from the media, there have been several attacks on cargo ships in the Red Sea in the past few days. Attacks by Houthi rebels from Yemen on merchant ships are now commonplace in this shipping area. <\/p>\n

In response, the majority of container shipping companies have decided to no longer use the Suez Canal route until further notice. Until the Red Sea can be safely navigated again, ships to and from Asia will take the alternative route around the South African Cape of Good Hope. <\/p>\n
